Meet the Coaches Team

Andrea’s fencing journey began at age seven, inspired by her mother, a Maître d’Armes. Blending this lifelong athletic heritage with a master’s degree in education, she brings more than 15 years of experience mentoring children and adolescents across various educational institutions in Chile.

Originally beginning in foil, Andrea later transitioned to épée, where her skill and commitment earned her a spot on the Chilean National Team across Cadet, Junior, and Senior divisions. Her competitive highlights include:

• Gold Medal – Junior South American Championships
• Gold Medal – South American Games
• Silver Medal – Senior South American Championships
• Bronze Medal – Junior Pan-American Championships
• Bronze Medal – Senior Ibero-American Championships

 As an accomplished athlete, Andrea has competed in prestigious events such as World Championships, World Cups, Grand Prix, Pan-American Games, and South American Games. Her outstanding performances kept her on the national fencing team for several years, culminating in 2017.

Alongside her competitive career, Andrea completed national coaching and refereeing programs in Chile and earned a Level 2 Épée Coaching Certification from Global Fencing Masters.

Samuel Moreno is a former elite épée fencer who proudly represented Chile on the international stage for over a decade. He competed at top-level events like the Pan American Games, South American Games, and Senior World Cups.

After retiring from competition, Samuel became a certified FIE referee (Epee and Foil), officiating at Grand Prix events, World Cups, and World Championships.

As a coach, he holds the title of Maître d’Armes and served as Chilean National Team Coach for four years. Under his leadership, Chile earned several international medals, including a silver at the 2019 Pan Am Games.

From 2020 to 2024, Samuel also supported the Chilean Modern Pentathlon Federation, first as a fencing coach and later as Head Coach.

Coach Samuel brings his deep expertise in both Epee and Foil to Summit Blades Fencing Academy, guiding fencers from foundational skills to competitive excellence with passion and discipline.
